Looe
Looe is a picturesque fishing harbour just a 20 minute walk from Millendreath. It has a rich history such as the famous bridge that connect East & West Looe, the banjo shaped pier and is famous for it's cobbled streets and range of independent boutique shops, pubs and restaurants and a stunning beach and excursions. It is just a 30 minute walk along the coast path.
Polperro
Polperro is a quaint and unspoilt fishing village located around a 15 minute drive from the villa. It is like stepping back in time and seeing beautiful ancient fisherman's cottages cling to the steep hillsides around a a small harbour with spectacular views of land and sea making it an artist's paradise. As you wander down the narrow lanes which lead to the harbour you will see a range of independently owned shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
Water Sports
Sea Explorers operate from Millendreath beach during summer months and subject to weather conditions. they hire kayaks, paddleboards, body boards, deck chairs, windbreakers etc. Go and visit Jenny to discuss your requirements!
E-foil
E-foil Cornwall is the first and only centre in Cornwall for Electric Hydro-foiling. Based in the tranquil waters of Looe Bay, they offer a perfect location to learn how to e-foil and a different way to explore the iconic Cornish Coastline as well as other water sports including paddle boarding.
Boat & Fishing Trips
Looe offers a variety of boat trips including dolphin and seal spotting, glass bottomed boats, trips to Polperro, mackerel and reef fishing and many others from individual boat companies.
Mackerel Fishing Trip
A 2-hour mackerel fishing trip is an ideal taster to sea fishing for the family. For just £20 pp with all the tackle provided, you might even being enjoying a grilled mackerel for your dinner!
Polperro Model Village
For over 60 years, the magical “Model Village” in Polperro has been a must-see family attraction. With a fantastic scale-model of Polperro, the entrance fee also includes the Land of Legend & the Model Railway.
Old Guildhall & Gaol Museum
This stone-built building in the centre of Looe has at various times been the local gaol, the Magistrates Court and the town's Guildhall. Now it is a fantastic Town Museum. The entrance is guarded by a cannon and once inside, you realise what a treasure-trove of objects and exhibits are on show. Adult entry is £3 per person. Check opening times.
Monkey Sanctuary
Wild Futures’ Monkey Sanctuary near Looe cares for a range of different species of rescued monkeys, giving visitors an intimate insight to a working sanctuary and a chance to meet some of its amazing monkey residents and wildlife inhabitants.
Lost Gardens of Heligan
Heligan is one of the most mysterious estates in England. Lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1, this Sleeping Beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and garden romantic.
This attraction is approximately an hour's drive from the villa.
The Eden Project
The home of the Eden Project used to be a barren landscape – a former clay mine with no soil or plants. This was transformed into huge crater into a beautiful global garden, which sets the stage for an extraordinary day out where you’ll rediscover the natural world as you've never experienced it before.
Explore massive covered Biomes to trek through one of the world’s largest indoor rainforests and immerse yourself in the calm fragrance of the Mediterranean Biome. For an amazing Sunday lunch, try the Smugglers Cott in Looe made from timbers of the Spanish Armada, dating back to 1420. Book early though, they are always fully booked!
